This past Labor Day weekend, we made a trip to Gammy and Poppa's house because we had a big party to attend in Houston. Our friend Vishal is getting married in a couple of weeks so the pre-ceremony shindig, called the Sangeet, was celebrated Sunday evening. The only thing was that the time of the party was creeping up on Baby Bedtime. After lots of convincing from Gammy, we decided we would take our chances with extending bedtime...check out Niva's party style:

As you can see, Niva had a blast and I'm so glad we decided to take her. That night, we got her to sleep by 10pm (approximately 1.5-2 hrs past regular bedtime). And by the way, Niva's toddler bed is in Fufu's room so they were roomies. WELL! At about 1:30, Fufu knocks on our door with a screaming Niva in her arms. T-Fu had heard a loud thump prior to the screams so we assume that she fell out of bed. Was she loopy from too much partying? This led to her first night ever of sleeping in bed with us. What a bed bully this child is! I had to sleep on my side with my arms up to give Niva room for rolling on top of my hair, punching me in the chest, ramming her head into me, and of course the kicking! Same story on Daddy's side. Hopefully, it is the last night we ever share a bed with her!

ReplyDeleteHA! We just had a similar experience last night! After waking us up for the third time (we think maybe teething?!?!) we brought her to bed with us around 3am. After 2 hours we kicked her out because we couldn't get any sleep!
