Niva's New Puppy Friend

Now that Niva is walking, a whole new door has been opened. Today, we went to Book People, a local book store. I thought it would be nice for Niva to spend time there since books are our friends. Well,  since she is able to get around and grab things now on her own, Niva went crazy! I soon discovered that I can't just set her down and leave her be. She quickly became friends with a cute little stuffed dog that she would not let go of. I attempted to trick her into leaving it behind. She wasn't having any of that! SO, along with our new books, we went home with the stuffed dog.  I learned my lesson that I am going to have to be more firm from now on or I might soon be dealing with a spoiled brat!

Oops! Mom forgot to put Niva's laundry in the dryer so she ended up having to wear the much bigger PJ's to bed last night. Who's going to be the first one to correctly translate Niva's message?

First Tailgate of the Season!

Niva was out and about to celebrate UT's first football game of the season. We had fun for the short time we were there but for some reason when Niva got home, she forgot how to walk! Maybe all the loud stimulation threw her off? Luckily, she was back up walking again today.

Niva received a little gift from a friend-- her own Longhorn bracelet! Of course, it ended up as her chew toy on the way home.

Guess where Niva learned her Surprised Face from? I think Niva had just tried to take a chomp out my shoulder here.

Then, we finished off the day with a delicious dinner at Cypress Grill. Niva says, "Thumbs up!" to her beans and rice.

Just Another Day in the Life...

Now that Niva J is a walker, she can do things like wear her pretty, long dresses...

And fully enjoy and explore the Austin Children's Museum...

We had the best time there yesterday! Niva loved running around everywhere and checking out the physics exhibit. Niva was quite the ham there too! First, she went up to some random lady wearing flip-flops and started tickling her feet ("ticka ticka ticka" she exclaimed). Then, during the storytime, the storyteller mentioned something about a cow. Guess who belted out a big, "Mooooooo!" when she heard "cow"? A big chuckle rippled through the crowd. I'm so glad she's outgrown her shy gal stage!

I think I'm going to start implementing Dance Party Fridays so Niva can learn how to get her dance on. Niva will don the Minnie Mouse ears and I will do my 6th grade moves while Niva walks around me wondering what the heck is going on:
